This was the first time that the WWE Championship was defended in an Elimination Chamber match, as well as being the first time that a women’s match was held inside the structure. The event also featured the Cruiserweight Championship being defended inside the structure for the first time.

The event aired live on the WWE Network and was hosted by Jerry “The King” Lawler. It was the first WWE pay-per-view (PPV) to feature an all-women’s Elimination Chamber match.
