“Who Died in the WWE This Week?”
In professional wrestling, as in any other entertainment field, the performers put their bodies on the line every time they step into the ring. And while the sport has become much safer in recent years, there are still robberies occasionally. This Week’s edition of “Who Died in the WWE?” looks at three wrestlers who died tragically young.
First up is Chyna, who died on Wednesday at the age of 46. Chyna was a founding member of WWE’s iconic Attitude Era stable D-Generation X, and was one of the most popular and groundbreaking women in wrestling history. Her death was due to a combination of drug overdoses and asphyxia.
Next is Test, who passed away on March 13th, 2020 at the age of 33. Test was a mainstay of WWE’s Attitude Era, and won multiple championships during his time with the company. His cause of death has not been revealed, though it is believed to be natural causes.
Finally, we have Movado, who died at the age of 34 on March 11th, 2020. Movado was a popular wrestler in his native Puerto Rico, and won numerous championships during his career. His cause of death is currently unknown.
These three wrestlers all died tragically young, and will be sorely missed by the WWE Universe.

-Owen Hart: Owen Hart was a trained wrestler and member of the famed Anoa’i family. He was also a successful tag team wrestler, winning the World Tag Team Championships with his partner, Jeff Jarrett. On May 23rd, 1999, Hart tragically died when he fell from the rafters while performing a stunt at WWE’s Over the Edge pay-per-view event. He was only 34 years old.
-Andre the Giant: Andre the Giant was a legendary figure in both the WWE and professional wrestling as a whole. He was an oversized man who towered over his opponents and was seemingly unbeatable in the ring. Unfortunately, Andre’s health began to decline in later years due to his weight and chronic pain. He passed away on January 27th, 1993 at age 46 from heart failure.
-Bam Bam Bigelow: Bam Bam Bigelow was one of the most popular wrestlers in the 1990s thanks to his unique look and athletic abilities. After leaving WWE, Bigelow wrestled for ECW and other promotions before eventually returning to WWE in 2007. However, his return was short-lived as he passed away just months later on January 19th from a drug overdose. He was only 45 years old.
-Ultimate Warrior: The Ultimate Warrior was one of the most popular wrestlers of the 1980s and early 1990s. He was known for his high energy and entertaining interviews. After leaving WWE, Warrior had several stints with other promotions before returning to WWE in 2014. Just days after his return, Warrior passed away from a heart attack on April 8th at 54 years old.
