Royal Rumble
The Royal Rumble is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced annually by WWE. It is one of the “Big Four” events of the WWE calendar, along with WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. It is named after the Royal Rumble match, a main event match where participants enter at timed intervals from different positions in the ring until there is only one remaining.
Elimination Chamber
Elimination Chamber is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event, produced annually by WWE. It is one of the “big four” events, along with WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. Since 2010, the chronology of WWE’s pay-per-view events has been divided into three separate groups: original chronology, brand extension chronology, and rotating chronology.
Fastlane
Fastlane is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced annually by WWE. It is the last PPV prior to WrestleMania, and has been held in February since 2017. The event was established in 2015 as a replacement for WWE’s previous February PPV, Elimination Chamber.
WrestleMania
WrestleMania is an annual professional wrestling event produced by WWE, a Connecticut-based promotion. The event is considered WWE’s flagship pay-per-view (PPV) event, having been described as the Super Bowl of sports entertainment. It has been held in various venues across the United States and Canada, with the most recent being Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. WrestleMania was first held in 1985 and has since become one of the largest annual sporting events in the world. In 2020, it was reported that WrestleMania 36 had generated 1.2 million buys worldwide, making it the most purchased WrestleMania ever.
Backlash
The first WWE pay-per-view (PPV) of 2021 will be Backlash, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 16. This will be followed by Judgment Day on Sunday, June 20. The other PPVs scheduled for 2021 are Great American Bash (July 11), SummerSlam (August 22), Clash of Champions (September 19), Hell in a Cell (October 3), Survivor Series (November 21), and TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs (December 19).
Money in the Bank
The Money in the Bank pay-per-view is a professional wrestling event produced annually by WWE. It is named after the Money in the Bank ladder match, which previously only took place at WrestleMania. The Money in the Bank contract can be cashed in at any time, for a world championship match, within the next calendar year. The event was established in 2005, replacing the previous WrestleMania 21’s payout of a brand new Cadillac Escalade.
The Money in the Bank ladder match was first contested at WrestleMania 21 on April 3, 2005. Edge won the inaugural match by retrieving the briefcase suspended above the ring. At the second event on June 18, 2006 Mr. Kennedy won, while CM Punk became Mr. Money in the Bank for a second time at WrestleMania XXVI on March 28, 2010 (his first having been in 2007). Sheamus won it for a second consecutive year at WrestleMania XXVII on April 3, 2011 (his first having been in 2010).
The 2020 event was originally scheduled to take place on May 10, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed and rescheduled as a special two-night event taking place on July 18 and 19.
Extreme Rules
The WWE Pay Per View schedule for 2021 is still being determined. However, Extreme Rules is currently scheduled for July 18th. This event will be held at the Pfizer World Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
SummerSlam
SummerSlam is an annual professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by WWE. It is the second biggest event of the summer for WWE, behind only WrestleMania. The event was established in 1988, and has been held in August every year since then.
WWE SummerSlam 2021 will take place on Sunday, August 15th at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Hell in a Cell
The WWE Hell in a Cell event is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) produced annually by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). It is named after the Hell in a Cell match, which was introduced by WWE in October 1997. The event was established in 2009, replacing No Mercy in the October slot of WWE’s PPV calendar. It is usually held in October. The first Hell in a Cell match took place at Badd Blood: In Your House on October 5, 1997, and was contested between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker. The following year, the first Hell in a Cell PPV took place on October 18, 1998. The 2020 event took place on October 25 and featured Drew McIntyre defended his WWE Championship against Randy Orton inside Hell in a Cell.
The scheduled main event for the 2021 Hell in a Cell is Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship.
