If you’re a fan of WWE, then you’re probably wondering what happened to Bailey. She was one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster, but she suddenly disappeared from TV. Here’s what we know about what happened to her.

Introduction
On the May 11, 2020 episode of WWE Raw, Bailey was attacked by Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. The following week, it was announced that she had suffered a legit broken nose and concussion as a result of the attack. She has been off WWE programming since then, but according to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer, she is still under contract with WWE and is expected to return to action soon.
Early life and career
Born in North Carolina, United States, on September 29, 1986, Bailey started her professional wrestling career in 2006. She worked for various independent promotions in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States until 2010. That year, she signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She was assigned to their developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where she became the inaugural FCW Divas Champion.
WWE career
In 2008, WWE signed Bailey to a developmental contract. She was assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), WWE’s developmental territory, where she became the first FCW Divas Champion. She held the title for two months before losing it to Alicia Fox. In 2009, Bailey competed in the all-female third season of NXT, though she did not win. The following year, she made her main roster debut on the SmackDown brand as one of The Bella Twins with her sister Brie. She quickly began a scripted rivalry with Vickie Guerrero and Nakamura which led to a match between the three at WrestleMania 32, which Bailey and Nakamura won. The Bella Twins then began a feud with Natalya and Alexa Bliss, during which they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice. In 2016, both Bellas participated in the historic women’s tournament, Mae Young Classic.
Personal life
On October 28, 2017, it was reported that Bailey had married fellow WWE wrestler Mike Kanellis.
Injuries
Unfortunately, due to injuries, we have not seen much of Bailey in the WWE as of late. She was drafted to Monday Night RAW during the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-up, however, she has not been on WWE television since April 16th, 2018.
Retirement
In September 2017, it was revealed that Bailey would be taking an indefinite leave of absence from WWE due to injuries. She returned in mid-2018, but in October 2018, it was reported that she had been injured again and would be taking another hiatus. On January 7, 2019, WWE confirmed that Bailey had retired from professional wrestling.
Legacy
The sudden death of WWE superstar Baiey broke the hearts of fans around thw world. Though an official cause of death has not been released, it is believed that she died from a drug overdose.

Awards and nominations
Since winning the WWE Championship in 2013, Bailey has been nominated for several awards and has won several championships. He was ranked #1 on the PWI 500 list of the top 500 wrestlers in the world in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Discography
In 2006, Bailey began working for WWE on their ECW brand. She made her in-ring debut on the December 5, 2006 episode of ECW, using the name Brianna Bailey, defeated Candice Michelle in a singles match. Throughout her tenure in ECW, she wrestled under the name Brie Bella and formed an alliance with Victoria. She also briefly wrestled on the SmackDown brand as part of The Bella Twins tag team with her sister Nikki. She was released from her WWE contract on April 15, 2010.
