Kajan and his protege Jamie Siraj join the podcast remotely from Montreal as both fighters prepare for respective fights in July.
The trio give their prediction on UFC 226’s biggest fights and react to Lyoto Machida’s move to Bellator. Kajan, Jamie, and Shak also take inspiration from the upcoming Liddell vs Ortiz 3 and reveal which legendary rivalries they would like to see reignited.
Shakiel Mahjouri: “In the spirit of Chuck Liddell vs. Tito Ortiz III, I’d like to ask you guys what legendary MMA rivalries you would like to see renewed.”
Shakiel Mahjouri: “What I’m afraid we will never get to see is Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson II. I probably came out of that fight with more questions than answers.”
Kajan Johnson: “What I want to see is Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar. Let’s get the old dogs back in the cage and have another blood bath.”
Jamie Siraj: “What about Max Holloway vs Conor McGregor,a again? Holloway has improved a lot since then so it would be interesting to see how that fight would go.
Kajan Johnson: “I’ve got one more for you and it is even older. This goes back to ancient times. I want to see ‘Pele’ Landi-Jons vs. Jorge ‘Pacaco’ Patino II. When I think about the most interesting fights that I’ve ever watched in my life, that is one of the most interesting fights I’ve ever seen. There was a moment when ‘Pele’ was standing over the guy and talking s–t and ‘Macaco’ just stands up and they have a staredown in the middle of the round. It was insanity.”
